In this section we shall keep the visitor regularly informed about specific site- or topic-related news.
The addition of more pictures to the side has been delayed due to the old time shortage problem. The revision of the other websites of the foundation has taken considerably more time than expected.
[15 March 2023] During Q3/2022 the provider suffered a massive crash during a maintenance routine. Unfortunately they did not manage to get all the settings back into original format causing special character in the content to re- appear garbled. We will try to improve on that by hard edits but we apologize for the inconvenience caused if we lack behind.
[15 March 2023]. An english-language book was launched on the Dutch defense strategy in May 1940 and the prelude thereto in the years before the war. The book is called "May 1940 - War over Holland - Winkelmans Witzkrieg ". The book may be purchased following this link.
[24 December 2023] We have had some difficulties with our provider bluntly executing 'updates' that time and again seem to disrupt our content and links. Very annoying and we apologize. We are constantly trying to improve content. Our update registry logs the updated pages.
[1 June 2025] We are in the process of re-scaping the entire website to a more current hosting- and editing environment. This will take some effort but it will save the content and website from becoming technically obsolete.
[6 April 2026] We have finally found the time and the assistance to get our entire website project shifted back from remote, obsolete and expensive US provider to a re-shored Dutch provider. Meanwhile we simplified the structure, added a safety certificate (https//) and changed to modern code.
[26 April 2026] We have added the section 11 (Maps) and filled it with the ten situational maps from the book 'War over Holland - Winkelman's Witzkrieg' that our author wrote a couple of years ago.
[26 April 2026] We are in the process of editing and improving the content and we will give the language a significant upgrade, working top to bottom in the exposed content. We will keep our visitors posted on the progress from time to time.
[17 May 2026] Migration of the website is done for the .nl version. The .com URL is a bit more time consuming but will follow, albeit obviously with the same content as the .nl version. The front-page ['Welcome'] has been language-modified and the first Zeeland pages too. We will from time to time inform our visitors where our language-improvement routine is at.
[7 June 2026] We have made some progress in the process of language modification / improvement. The Zeeland section up to including 14 May has been modified. Also, the .com URL has gone live.
Pictures/photos were removed during our transition in April 2026. We will restore a modest gallery in due time. Meanwhile we have removed the previous complex and heavy map tool and added 10 situational maps under Chapter 11. These maps were created on our request by historical researcher and publicist Ruud Bruijns, also active on Facebook
